June 1983, the first Sportshouse branch opened along Gilmore Avenue, paving the way to a new shopping habit for athletes and sports enthusiasts. Sportshouse dared to change the shopping habit for sports equipment and accessories from the traditional specialty sports shop and typical music stores selling sporting goods to a one-stop shopping experience.

The brain behind this pioneering retail experience, Mr. Mars C. Chua, President & CEO, conceived a sports outlet where the things you need in "All the games you play" can be found conveniently under one roof.

A year later, the first branch inside the mall was opened at SM North EDSA. To bring life to sports and sports to people's lives, Sportshouse expanded its operations to Visayas and Mindanao with the first branch in Cebu in 1994. Since then, sporting goods shopping itinerary has never been so convenient.
